Something that has always hit close to home is poverty. I didn’t grow up in a wealthy home, a matter of fact, I grew up in what I knew as a working class home. Growing up, my family was always a paycheck away from homelessness. Part of it was the fact that my parents were poor money managers, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that there wasn’t a lot of money to manage.

A lot of my friends growing up were much worse off than we were. I saw it first hand every day at school. I’m sure that my brother and sister saw the same thing when they went to school. There were always kids wearing old clothes, looking dirty and underfed. Poverty exists. It’s a fact. It’s time that we did something about it. Since I’m not that bad of - I have a place to live that I’m not going to lose, I can feed myself and my wife, I can buy a pack of cigarettes - I’ve decided that the very least that I can do is bring some awareness of the plight of many to those that might have missed it or ignored it.
