Easter bike ride and picnic
Published by finn March 28th, 2005 in Around the LBCI went for a nice bike ride on the bicycle path here in Long Beach with Katie and her parents. I was riding a rather uncomfortable borrowed bike. I still have a little discomfort from that hard, narrow seat. We rode about 5 miles total and had a great time.
After our bike ride, we had a picnic lunch. During lunch we got to see a large plastic city trash can catch fire and burn to the ground. It was interesting watching the lifeguards who attempted to put the fire out only to have the trash can burn completely to the ground. We also watched all the interesting people that frequent the beaches of Long Beach - like the guy in the black Scion xB that cruised the parking lot over 20 times and the ice cream truck that toured the parking lot but never seemed to sell anything, not to mention all the other interesting people out and about on Easter. We even flew a Tweety Bird kite that Katie had picked up Saturday night at the grocery store.
After our picnic and stage show, we went back to our house and had coffee and cake. We also played 3 games of Scrabble. I won two of the games, but I had some very serious competition.
It was a good day! I even got a few pictures that I am sure will find their way into the galleries soon…
update: I’ve added the pictures to the photo section- Easter 2005: A day at the beach
